Thank you for choosing Discover Canada Tours and our family of brands (“the Tour Operator”) to help plan your trip. The purchase of travel, accommodation, insurance or other products or services (“Travel Services”) through the Tour Operator constitutes an agreement between you and Discover Canada Tours. The following terms and conditions form part of that agreement. These conditions affect your legal rights, including your right to sue. Please make sure you have read and understood these terms and conditions.

General Conditions

Prices

All prices quoted are shown in Canadian ($CAD) funds. All rates are subject to tax increases unless otherwise noted in the Travel Services proposal, booking confirmations and/or invoices. Payment must be made in Canadian funds.

Not Included in Price

Unless expressly detailed in the Travel Services proposal provided, the Travel Services do not include travel to a departure point, airfares, passport and visa fees, travel insurance, baggage charges, airport fees, taxes, gratuities, extra meals, ferry tolls, National Park Fees, laundry, alcoholic drinks, optional tours, porterage or any items of a personal nature.

Changes In Prices & Itinerary

Quoted Travel Services and rates may change and are subject to availability at time of booking. Prices are subject to fluctuations and/or fuel and service charges imposed by airlines, rail & coach providers, hotels, airports, government agencies, and other ground providers. In the event of fluctuations we reserve the right to adjust prices without notice.

Cancellation

Should you need to cancel your trip, you (or your authorized travel agent) must notify us in writing by letter, email, or by fax. Notification of cancellation is based on the working week in Canada. Weekend days or statutory holidays cannot be calculated in day’s prior policies for cancellation fee avoidance. An acknowledgement of cancellation notice will be sent; should you not receive this advice then cancellation has not been received by Discover Canada Tours and must be resent. We recommend independent purchase of travel insurance, which we can offer by contacting our travel consultant specialist at sepideh@uniglobespecialty.com.

Please refer to the cancellation policies and deadlines below for more information on cancellation of different tour packages.

Coupons & discount codes

Coupon and discount codes can only be used on scheduled tour dates. Coupons and discounts cannot be used on Yukon packages. Certain self-drive packages also do not allow discounts to be used. Please confirm with your agent regarding coupons and discount codes.

Unused services

There will be no refunds for services which are not utilized. Should passengers fail to arrive for their pre-booked service/product or voluntarily cancel, amend or otherwise alter their arrangements; Discover Canada Tours will not be responsible for refunds. This is regardless of inferred or implied assurances on behalf of any of service providers.

Responsibility

Discover Canada Tours acts solely as an agent for the suppliers used in the program. Although great care is taken in choosing suppliers, we are unable to directly control them and therefore cannot be liable for their acts or omissions. The travel services are subject to the conditions imposed by these suppliers, and their liability may be limited to their tariffs, conditions of carriage, international conventions and agreements.

Passports & Travel Documentation

Visitors to Canada from all other countries require a valid passport to enter the country. Citizens of some countries may require a visa. It is your responsibility to check the validity of your passport, which should be valid well beyond your return date and to ensure it meets all requirements for admission into Canada. Many countries require your passport to be valid for six months beyond your travel dates or you may be denied Travel Services. Travelers who fly to Canada may also require an electronic travel authorization document. If you have any questions or concerns with respect to your ability to enter Canada, please consult Immigration and Citizenship Canada.  For current information on travel to Canada visit www.travel.gc.ca.

Changes to the itinerary

Safety is our primary concern. Please note that on some tours, it may be necessary to modify the itinerary due to weather and / or road conditions. If so, we will endeavor to add other sights and activities to replace those omitted. If the itinerary is modified to one that is less expensive than the original, the client will be refunded the difference in cost between the original and modified itineraries. If the itinerary is modified to one that is more expensive than the original, the client’s advance approval will be obtained, and the client will be charged the difference between the original and modified itineraries. If a tour is canceled and no substitute tour is available or acceptable to the client, the client will be refunded the full cost of the tour minus any applicable vendor payments. The client is responsible for all additional transportation or lodging costs that are necessitated by weather. In addition, if a client has planned to travel by air to a tour or lodging facility that can also be accessed by ground transportation, there will be no refund if the air transportation is canceled and the client chooses not to access the tour or lodging facility by ground transportation. There are no refunds if a tour operates but the client decides due to weather or any other reason not to participate. Participation in activities, tours, and transportation is not mandatory and purely voluntary. We strongly recommend travel insurance to help protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Media Policy

Any pictures, video or promotional footage taken by Discover Canada Tours or other parties working with Discover Canada Tours (which may include Passengers), during the Trip, will be the property of Discover Canada Tours, and the Passenger consents to the use and disclosure for future promotional purposes. The Passenger also consents to the use and disclosure of any of the personal information collected regarding the Passenger (except for payment information) to enable Discover Canada Tours to inform the Passenger of events and promotions.

Insurance

All participants are strongly advised to purchase medical insurance coverage and cancellation insurance, either through Discover Canada Tours or through another insurance provider or broker. Discover Canada Tours is able to provide quotes on competitive travel insurance policies and would be happy to do so. All insurance products provided through Discover Canada Tours are subject to additional terms and conditions. Please review the wording of all insurance policies, including all warranties, conditions, exclusions and limits carefully. A select number of Travel Services have mandatory insurance coverage requirements due to the nature of the activity. Please read all quote documentation carefully to ensure compliance. If you would like more information on trip cancellation options or would like to purchase travel insurance (available up to 72 hours before departure) please email: sepideh@uniglobespecialty.com.

If a guest comes down with symptoms while on the tour, they will be isolated from the group and will receive a rapid test. If the test is positive, the guest will need to be removed from the tour to follow the isolation requirements. DCT will assist the guest in this case to book accommodation and return transportation. The guest will be responsible for all associated additional costs. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance which we can arrange for you.

If you are presenting symptoms, you will not be allowed to join the tour. It is your responsibility to purchase travel insurance to cover you should this occur. Please contact one of our agents if you wish to get a travel insurance quote from us.
